Themes
There is a growing complexity in the assessment of domestic energy systems. Whereas in the past the focus was primarily on (individual) products, today it increasingly involves a combination of factors. Furthermore, energy use is being optimised through a Home Energy Management System, in conjunction with variable energy contracts and supply arrangements. A pragmatic, scientific assessment of these factors is becoming increasingly important.
Independent assessments
In an increasingly complex energy market, KDE provides insight into the actual performance and impact of energy solutions. These science-based calculations can be used to make informed decisions and form the basis for reliable and objective communication with relevant stakeholders.
Measured energy label
The current energy label for residential properties differs significantly from actual energy performance. In practice, this has implications in a number of areas. A measured energy label provides a direct and realistic view of energy performance, leading to better insights, more effective investments, and a fairer valuation. KDE is working on developing a system for this.
